The Auburn Mall is located in Auburn, Maine and tries to offer a complete entertainment experience.  It has traditional hours and is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Saturday and from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm on Sunday.  Though it does not have the selection of shops that it had when it first opened, the Auburn Mall houses standard chain store selections like JC Penney, Bath & Body Works, Maurice’s and Radio Shack.  There are options that are not available at every mall, such as the Auburn Mall Eye Care and the Auburn Public Library. 

Shopping is not the only thing that the Auburn Mall has going for it.  It also offers several activities and events inside the mall.  One such activity is the Mall Walkers group.  During the few hours after the mall opens, people drive to the Auburn Mall so that they can exercise in a safe environment that escapes the different types of weather.  Another activity is game night at The Holiday Store.  Game night begins at 6 p.m. on Mondays and offers an environment for families and friends to get together and have an enjoyable time.  Throughout the winter, the Auburn Mall houses events, such as The Holiday Store, which specializes in Christmas decorations, San Francisco music boxes, games and puzzles. 

Though Auburn Mall has been open since 1979, it is no longer as prosperous as it once was.  Much of the shopping has gone to stores that surround the mall, such as Home Depot, Wal-Mart and Kohl’s.  In addition, there are now several shopping malls and centers in the immediate area that offer more than the Auburn Mall has to offer.  For those who do not like the mall crowds, but do like the stores available in a mall, this could be the option for you.  While it might not be as big, new or fancy as some of the other shopping opportunities in the area, the Auburn Mall should still be given a chance.
