Galleria Mall in Houston

The Galleria Mall in Houston, having undergone a major expansion in 2003, is now the fourth largest mall in the nation, with over 375 stores and restaurants.  One of the biggest draws in the Houston area, the Galleria Mall is located at the intersection of Westheimer Road and Post Oak Blvd., just off Loop 610 at the center of Uptown Houston.

Besides beautiful architecture such as suspended glass balconies, you’ll find a world of shops, food, services, and entertainment.  Check out the Polar Ice Rink, open seven days a week, morning and evening, with all day sessions Friday through Sunday (mall hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00am to 9:00pm, and Sunday, 11:00am to 7:00pm – call for skating, department store, and restaurant hours).  If you aren’t into skating, try the Tilt, a video game arcade.  If you are looking for a more pampering experience, try the Bio Silk Spa or Cosmo Day Spa for full VIP treatment.

If you are traveling, the Westin Galleria Hotel is conveniently attached to the mall itself.  Find specialty tourist shops offering Texas-themed gizmos and gadgets, such as Texas Souvenirs, to commemorate your stay in the Lone Star State.  Two banks are also located directly within the mall for easy access to finances.

Eateries include counter service locations such as McDonald’s, Sbarro’s Pizza, and Subway.  If you’d like to sit down to a more structured, serviced meal, stop off at Bennigan’s or the Cheesecake Factory.  After a long day of shopping, you may feel the need to refuel with caffeine – try the Nordstrom Cafe, or simply stop off at the nation’s favorite coffee shop, Starbucks.  You can even find tax services available within the Galleria Mall.
